Accessibility Statement

Last updated 13. October 2026

AStA University of Lüneburg is committed to making this website accessible. This statement explains the current status, the known limitations, and how you can tell us about them.

Scope

This accessibility statement applies to the website of AStA University of Lüneburg in German and English.

Compliance Status

This website is partially compliant with Directive (EU) 2016/2102 of the European Parliament and of the Council of 26 October 2016 on the accessibility of the websites and mobile applications of public sector bodies, and with the Barrier-Free Information Technology Ordinance (BITV 2.0). “Partially compliant” means that the points listed below are not yet fully met.

The assessment is based on the Gwyneth certification and the internal accessibility audit dated 20 September 2026. It was conducted against the Web Content Accessibility Guidelines (WCAG) 2.2, conformance level AA.

Non-accessible Content and Reasons

The following limitations were identified in the audit of 20 September 2026. We intend to resolve them by 31 March 2027.

Presentation and readability

  • The highlighted “Mehr erfahren” button on the German homepage does not stand out sufficiently from its background in the light colour scheme (WCAG 1.4.3).
  • In the dark colour scheme, ten tested text and link elements on light areas of the German homepage are hard to read (WCAG 1.4.3).
  • The “Jetzt mehr erfahren” button on the English homepage is hard to read in the dark colour scheme (WCAG 1.4.3).
  • The submit button of the forms on the StuPa pages uses a colour supplied by the form plugin and does not stand out sufficiently from its label (WCAG 1.4.3).

Operation

  • The dot buttons of the posts carousel on the English homepage are smaller than 24 pixels and sit too close together, which makes them hard to hit with a mouse or by touch (WCAG 2.5.8).
  • The control for switching between the light and dark colour scheme was not operable in the tested run. All content remains fully available in the default scheme.

Access and navigation

  • There is currently no standalone contact page with a form: the address /kontakt/ redirects to /service/, and the English address /en/contact/ is unavailable. Until this is fixed, please use the email address below.
  • The short addresses /asta/ and /en/asta/ are unavailable. You can find the student parliament content at /stupa/ and /en/stupa/.
  • The short address /barrierefreiheit/ is unavailable. This statement is reachable at /erklaerung-zur-barrierefreiheit/ and /en/accessibility-statement/.
